Belinda has specialised in working with children, adolescents, parents and families since 1996. Prior to establishing her own company, Chameleon Clinical Psychology, Belinda worked at the Prince of Wales Hospital Adolescent Service, as well as The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and Westmead Hospital’s residential child and adolescent psychiatry unit. She also worked in adult community mental health with St George Hospital.
Belinda obtained her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of NSW and then completed doctoral studies with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney investigating the assessment of emotional intelligence in high school students and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder. She has been a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists for over 20 years, and she is a founding member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She has worked in private practice since 2010.
Dr Belinda runs her Chameleon Kids and Family Clinic on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. She has offered testing, school visits and therapy at Akuna Suites in Annandale since 2025, and her special interests include testing of intellectual ability and academic achievement, emotional intelligence, attachment and parenting, anxiety, depression, psychosomatic disorders, ADHD coaching, challenging behaviour, eating disorders, trauma and grief, narcissism, and high-functioning autism spectrum disorder.
Her preferred treatment approaches are informed by evidence-based practice, and include cognitive- behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, acceptance andcommitment therapy (ACT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), and family therapy. She emphasises a warm, playful and accepting atmosphere, infused with creativity and humour, where kids and their families can explore opportunities for learning, growth and change. The smiling “Leon the Chameleon” symbolises all of these qualities.
Belinda is a registered as a provider under Worker’s Compensation and Victims Services NSW, and I can also help with SDRO Work and Development Orders (WDO).
